Stir Fry – Hot and Sour February 12, 2007

Filed under: Chinese, Homelife, asian kitchen, bento, lunch box — yeny @ 9:00 pm

070213I made Hot and Sour Soup for dinner. For tomorrow’s lunch, I am using almost the same ingredients as the hot ‘n sour for a change with least effort.

Bamboo shoots, ear mushrooms, celery (cuz I have to clean up my fridge), carrots, chicken, everything sliced thinly.

Marinate chicken in soy, sake (cooking wine) and sugar, at least for 30 min. Heat oil, stir fry chicken first, take it out. Stir in all the rest, add chicken back in, add 1 tbs sake, 1 tbs water, 1 tsp chinese vinegar, and soy to taste. If it’s to dry, just add bit water.

A little break – I guess February 9, 2007

Filed under: Homelife — yeny @ 3:57 pm

I’ve been sick for two days, got the flu, so I called in sick. I feel bad every time I do that, it feels like cutting school. I grew up in culture where people expected to show up at school/work, unless you’re so sick that you can’t get out of bed. I learned later that it is better for me to stay at home then spreading germs to my co-workers. While staying at home, I keep guessing, whose germ at the office that got me sick :D

Anyway, so no bento, probably until Monday, or Tuesday. I really don’t feel like doing anything now.

L: omelete, konbu, burger, check out my cute mayo container.

R: omelete, spagheti w/beef and mushrooms, basa cutlet.

I am home sick today. I used to force myself to go to work even though I am sick. Now I’ve learned it is better to stay home than spreading the germs to your co-workers :D

I hate being at home, alone, and sick, so boring. In other way, it gives time to upload my last two bentos. I’ve been busy adjusting at my new job, I haven’t had timeto do blogs.
