Ingredients
- Mixture of 200g ground beef and 250g ground pork
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 Carrot
- 4 tbs breadcrumbs (panko)
- 2 tbs milk
- 1 egg
- pinch of nutmeg (optional), salt and pepper to taste. You can add cheese if you like
Steps
- Mince onion and carrots finely, sauteed them with a bit of oil in a pan. Let it cool.
- Mix all ingredients in a bowl (except cheese), make a ball, and shape it to a ‘burger’. Do not overmix.
- Heat oil over medium high heat. Pan fried both sides of the burger about 1 min each side (to form a nice brown crust).
- Cover the pan with a lid, lower the heat, cook about 5-6 min (until cooked). You can use toothpick to check, if the juice runs clear, it’s done. If it is muddy red juice, simply just put the lid back on again.
- When it is almost almost done, put the cheese on top, put the lid back on, just to melt the cheese, shouldn’t take long.
Notes
- I don’t normally make special sauce. I just use Buldog Tonkatsu sauce with Japanese Mayo.
- You can use the same mixture, wrap them in nori, and pan fried them (use step 3 & 4). It becomes ‘Nori Dumpling’. Ta Da..
